T: Innovators live as close to Downtown as possible so they can escape the clutches of car ownership. They develop new approaches to transportation like the Tango, or set up alternative transportation programs like En Route Spokane. These types see light rail as imperative and won’t let the shortsightedness of the public or a government committee get in the way of sustainable transit infrastructure.
F: Innovators are happy to make a personal commitment NOT to support the corporate food distribution system. Instead they shop exclusively at places like Fresh Abundance and other small grocery and farmer’s market outlets.
M: Innovators constantly digest a diverse array of traditional and non-traditional media sources. They subscribe to RSS. They don’t just talk about media democracy, they live it; often producing things like local blogs, podcasts, community radio shows, independent films, and zines, etc.
R: Innovators are happiest creating their own new forms of entertainment. Enacting street theater projects (see below) or starting the local roller girl derby are the first two examples that come to mind.
C: Innovators seem to compulsively volunteer and participate in things like the Faith and Environment Network, Neighborhood Alliance meetings, and the Holistic Chamber of Commerce because they’re interested in successful organizing models. Political work focuses on systemic change that addresses root causes.
