Good Girl Rising

This Friday March, 8th marks International Women’s Day; a holiday dedicated to the achievement of women past, present and future. Spokane has a great history of celebrating this little-known holiday and this year is no different.

To kick things off, this Thursday March, 7th there will be a screening of film Girl Rising, directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Robbins, which tells the stories of 9 extraordinary girls from 9 countries, written by 9 celebrated writers and narrated by 9 renowned actresses.  Girl Rising showcases the strength of the human spirit and the power of education to change the world.

The best thing about this screening, is that it was requested by people in Spokane to be brought to the AMC on event site Gathr. The screening starts at 7:30PM this Thursday at the AMC Theater in Riverpark Square.

Tickets will not be available at the door, so you need to buy them online in advance of the screening. Tickets are $10 and available here.

Thanks so much for publicizing these terrific events fr International Women’s Day on March 8!!!

  2. Wonderful! I truly believe that the hope for the the survival of the human race is in the hands of the women rising. It is obvious that “mankind” (wow! isn’t that an oxymoron?)hasn’t done too well to date.
