Anyone who knows anything in Spokane should be reading MetroSpokane. It is the most prolific of our local blogs, and covers a wide variety of things including land use, development, urban design, and other tantalizing topics of civic interest.
Every once in a while, however, this please-all super blog gets a little edgy – commenting on weird Spokane phenomena, local cultural ticks, objects of interest, and other random bits.
Presenting the Top 10 most punk rock Metro posts of all time:
- Mannequins protest condo development
- Guerrilla Street Art: Ornate Oil Barrels…
- The Best Expo ’74 Souvenir…EVER
- Street Art? Vandalism?
- Psychogeography – Deconstructing your neighborhood…
- Bucky Fuller STILL owns the friggin’ lower South Hill
- How to deal with those pesky solicitors…
- The New People’s Billboard?
- Helpful hints from the Peaceful Valley welcome wagon…
- Kendall Yards – Controlled Explosion Goodness
Did I miss one? Please, by all means let me know!

The best MetroSpokane post or at least the one that I forwarded to my contacts and got the most response about was the one about Vision Quest – that wonderful (ok so I had to watch it every wrestling trip in high school) movie filmed in Spokane and how the opening sequence isn’t quite realistic – que the Google Map – http://metrospokane.typepad.com/index/2007/12/mapping-louden.html
