Perennials at the Porch
I don’t know a whole lot about The Perennials, but when I listened to their single ‘Bread Crumbs,’ I was hit with visions of traversing America–across the desert, wheat fields, forests, and all that good stuff, having all kinds of adventures along the way. I can tell from what I’ve heard that this is a well-put together ensemble of three, and apparently the U.K. is all about them– which is probably why they’re going on tour there, and then relocating to Brooklyn.
Friday they’re having an all-ages(!) send-off party at the Porch with a great lineup that includes House of Ghosts, who just a couple weeks ago rocked BeGin!. Additionally, those of age will be able to purchase wine and beer with all the proceeds going to Haiti.
The cover is $15, but that gets you a copy of the new album so I think it’s money well spent. I’m a little bummed that such a gorgeous sound is leaving our little corner of the world, however, I think it’s one of those cases where we’ll be hearing a lot more about them not long after they leave.
