Speaking of Spoke
In case you haven’t been paying attention, the arts are a-bloomin’ this 2012 winter (and particularly, this week.) We have RiverSpeak’s Only Time Will Tell project, Riverlit #5 at Auntie’s and Boo’s, two kickass BeGins, the new GTFUOTC is out (and 18 pages long!), and now, we have a new publication swooping in to pile on even more art goodness.
It’s called Spoke: Origin/Art/Process. I could paraphrase what it’s about, but the way they have it written on their website is way more awesome:
“Spoke is a literary and arts publication cultivating a community-integrated outlet for artists and non-artists alike. Art originates in process, the interaction between ideas and environment. What is this environment, this place? What is its art, its identity?”
This is a brand-spankin’-new entity, and the first issue (themed Place/Displaced) hits local shelves next week. For now, you can pre-order it until Saturday to the tune of only $7. If you have art you want to submit for the next issue (themed Signal/Noise), you have until May 1st.
