Spokane, WA Rainbow

I live for moments like these:




Last night I conducted a Flickr experiment:

Searching the terms “spokane rainbow” yielded 6 pages of fairly interesting results. What was even more interesting, however, was the discovery that almost every shot of a rainbow in Spokane (excluding the predictable river pictures and sky-only compositions) displayed some kind of jarring juxtaposition between this gorgeous natural phenomenon and some hideous human product:

Trailer Park                                                Cheap Chain Hotel

4 Lane Intersection                                    Public Health Building

  1. I think the last photo is evidence that the Public Health building was designed by leprechauns, and they live in the domes at the top.
